Wedding Wednesday: Update

I can officially say we're getting married next year and I am so excited.

It is 643 days until we get married, or 1 and 3/4 years if you want to be slightly less meticulous about it. We are getting married, sometimes it sinks in and I can't explain how excited I feel, I get to be G's wife. We get to spend the rest of our lives together, go camping, travel the world, start a family, sometimes I look at G and have to take a second to think and breathe.

I wouldn't say wedding planning has stopping but I'm in the middle of a super busy few months finishing my degree and work experience. I'm still pinning away and I've been drawing up ideas for our save the dates/invitations. I hope to use natural sources to make our invitations so recycled card or even maybe wood.

We went to visit Hexham Winter Gardens just before Christmas, and it's even more stunning in person than in pictures. Once we're over our busy period we're hoping to take another look maybe this time with our families to see what they think. The space is everything we want, a nice open space we can set up how we like, we can decorate how ever we like bring in different props and lights to suit our style and there's also outside space which if the English winter weather surprises us I would love to include.

Dress wise my Mama and I went to visit a small dress shop in Corbridge near to Newcastle, I tried on
a few dresses and did find one in particular I loved, in a style I didn't think I would like. But we are going to look around again once this busy few months is over. There is a new outlet opening in Gateshead with lots of one of dresses at a reduced price (which is of course a bonus) so we're going to go for a browse.

I am getting started on drawing up some invitation/save the date ideas (check my Pinterest! There's a whole Invitations board) and I've so many doodles in different notebooks.

Hopefully soon we can start making more plans and setting things in stone, until then I'll be pinning and day dreaming. If you're intrigued check out my Pinterest where I lots of wedding boards filled with my ideas!

Wedding Wednesday: Newcastle Vintage Wedding Fair

Another Wedding Wednesday is here! And this week we went to the Newcastle Vintage Wedding Fair at the Theatre Royal so I thought I'd tell you all about a few of my favourite things we saw while we were there.

We LOVED this bar bicycle stocked with you favourite drinks or the option to create a custom cocktail for your guests from Nickynoo Quirky Weddings and Events find them on www.nickynoo.co.uk.
They also provide catering (Afternoon tea!) and a candy cart!

Pimms is such a wonderful summer drink and now you can have the Pimms van at your wedding! They also have a television screen on the side of the van which you can use to play music or even a slide show. Find them at www.pimmsvan.co.uk and don't forget they also do a winter pimms if you're planning a colder wedding like we are!

Macarons! I'm in love with the bright colours of these mini treats that can be made to match to your colour scheme! One of my favourite parts? These treats are coloured and flavoured with all natural flavourings so non of those crazy additives. These not only look amazing they taste incredible too! Find them at www.leminimacaron.co.uk.

We also saw this amazing Live band! The Four Shadows as soon as I heard them singing Little Lion Man I was dead set on having these guys perform at the wedding. Their song list is just perfect and not to mention the wonderful outfits they wore. Find them here at www.fourshadowstheatre.co.uk.

Last but not least Surf & Silver from The Rainbow Pot in Grainger market has the most wonderful handmade sea glass jewellery. Sea glass reminds me of my childhood so seeing such beautiful jewellery creations was wonderful. Find The Rainbow Pot on Facebook and Twitter.

Seeing all these amazing things has really gotten me (even more) excited to plan the wedding! Look out for another update soon!

Things I'm thankful for this week.

Hello. It's that lovely time of week again when we look back at all the wonderful things we have to be thankful for.
So what am I thankful for this week?

2. Snuggles with my little cat who loves to invade my personal space in the cutest  way possible.

3. Just being around my lovely Mr.

4. Planning my final year project! Excited and scared at the same time to finish this year!

5. The yummy dinner we had with G's family to celebrate his Mums birthday.

6. The winter weather setting in, even if I get blown away walking everywhere.

7. Making plans and forming ideas for a little Christmas project I'm working on.

8. Updating my wedding book with new ideas!

9. Spiced Camomile tea for winter bedtimes.

10. Reading while wrapped up in my blanket. So cosy and finally the right season for it!

Wedding Wednesday: Bridal Fashion Week Picks

Last week was Bridal Fashion week and I'd been following all the bridal shops on Instagram and I thought I'd share my top 5 dresses from the week.

Ti Adora by Alvina Valenta gown
Rosa Clara gown
Alma Nova gown
D.I.D by Watters gown
Marchesa gown
You can probably see a theme in the dresses I like. I'm definitely a fan of the floaty dresses small dresses, some kind of high neck and sleeve and a natural waist.

I'm excited to try dresses on soon and maybe give you a sneak peak when I try them on with my Mama.

Wedding Wednesday: My wedding notebook

I thought for this Wedding Wednesday I'd give you all a little peak at my wedding notebook!

I've been writing down my ideas and plans. All the things we've decided on and I've doodled next to them.

I just have a simple ring binder from WH Smiths.

So far my favourite magazines to flick through have been You&Your Wedding and Brides, they have plenty of content and lots of real weddings of all different themes.

I have lots of cuttings from magazines. That I throw in the back of my book to look at whenever I'm thinking of making a decision about something.

Lots of floaty, chiffon dress inspiration. I'm especially in love with the one in the middle from Ti Adora.

I split my book into sections and wrote down all our initial ideas for what we wanted.

We've pretty much decided on our wedding venue and just need to organise a time to go and see it officially. But from all the pictures and info we've seen we couldn't imagine anywhere more suited to us.

Doodles for the entrance.

Wedding dress sketches.

Our aim is to do a lot of the decorations, invitations and food like desert table and drinks ourselves. Which will save us money and we'll enjoy doing at the same time.

I also started a list of music in the back of the book to write down songs I hear and love.

I keep smiling every time I look at G and remember that I get to marry that amazing man. And I know I've caught him smiling at me a few times too.

We're beyond excited and can't wait to officially start planning, booking and making.
